Moreton & Company has the unique history and relationships that allow us to provide world-class insurance service on a personal, local scale.

For over 100 years, Moreton & Company has been growing as an independently owned and operated regional insurance brokerage firm.

Our Story
Founded by J.B. Moreton in 1910, Moreton & Company started with a focus on the surety and insurance needs of the growing Salt Lake Valley and its mining businesses.

As our clients’ needs became more complex, we began to handle additional coverages, and through the years our services expanded to include commercial property and casualty, risk management, employee benefits, financial consulting, retirement planning, and individual & family insurance policies.

Now in our fourth generation of family ownership, Moreton has grown considerably. We have become one of the 100 largest brokers in the United States and now have offices in three states, staffed by over 180 employees.

Placing nearly $600 million in annual premium, Moreton has established significant market relationships with the world’s leading insurers.

Our Values
After a century in business, Moreton & Company is still privately held and continues to provide our clients with innovative solutions, local support, excellent value, and peace of mind. We’ve been keeping our promises for over one hundred years.

What started out with a school teacher selling notary bonds has turned into a strong, resilient firm serving the risk and insurance needs of our clients across the world.

Integrity & Excellence
While we are proud of our status as one of the top 100 insurance brokers in the country, we are even more proud of our “Best Practices” agency status, which recognizes Moreton & Company’s reputation of integrity and excellence.

Risk Management Philosophy
Some define risk as peril, others as opportunity. The difference is how risk is managed. Our clients have been successful because we think of risk as opportunity and develop programs that enable them to achieve the optimal balance between security and growth.
