We are the first local broker ever to be awarded the opportunity to cover the Olympic Games, and we demonstrated our unique ability to provide world-class insurance service on a personal, local scale.

First of Our Kind
When we submitted our successful bid to be the designated insurance broker for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, it marked the first time in Olympics history that a local insurance broker had been chosen to provide the Games’ risk management and employee benefit services.

We were selected as the broker for the Games based on our expertise, resources, and integrity. We were already deeply engrained in the community, already insuring most of the venues the Olympics were using.

Broad Coverage
Our insurance coverage of the 2002 Olympic Games was among the most competitively priced and included the broadest terms and conditions of any previous Olympic Games. When the first event of the 2002 Winter Olympics games was cancelled due to high winds, Moreton & Company paid the significant event cancellation coverage.

Successful Partnership
“We are proud of our affiliation with the 2002 Olympic Games,” says Craig Smith, Moreton’s Executive Vice President and director of Moreton & Company’s bid for the Olympic Games. “Our roots are here—we are proud that our state hosted the world and we are proud to have helped the Games be successful.”
